There are a lot of great and easy ways for kids to make money out there without resorting to the old boring and traditional methods such as paper routes and cutting the neighbor’s grass. How to make money for kids doesn’t have to be difficult question if you consider some of these more interesting easy ways to make money for kids.

First, kids can consider being a little chef at home. When I was around 12 years old I began selling small prepared meals to my siblings. For example, my standard price for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich was $.25. More involved meals naturally cost more. As my siblings would rather just watch TV instead of doing the work themselves, it provided an easy money making opportunity.
Secondly, children often know a lot more about computers and technology than adults, and especially senior citizens. I’ve even heard of kids as young as 13 or 14 being paid for actual computer programming work. But kids even younger than that already know how to operate the basics of a computer such as Internet browsing and word processing, and can teach such skills to older folks for a little extra money.
Then there are of course the traditional chores and tasks that need to be done either for relatives or neighbors. These can range from cleaning windows for $.50 a piece to walking someone’s dog for a fee of around two dollars. A list of all jobs offered can be posted around the neighborhood in order to maximize job opportunities.
There’s also the world of recycling to consider. When I was younger we always used to collect aluminum cans and glass bottles for the recycling deposit. Such fees can really add up, especially as more and more states are implementing environmental recycling laws. In some states each aluminum can have a deposit of up to $.10, and according to some reports, some groups of kids were raking in more than $100 per day just by collecting aluminum cans from around the neighborhood. Now that’s some good ways for kids to make money! If kids get involved in this type of work however it’s important to put safety first, and that means wearing gloves and washing hands thoroughly after doing such jobs. If such precautions are followed this can be another easy way to make money for kids.
Hopefully this article can get you thinking outside the box beyond the traditional newspaper route when it comes to thinking of how to make money for kids.
